Follow us inside an old thatched farm from 1860, situated on the long, narrow island of Sylt in the Wadden Sea south of the Danish-German border. Today, the house is used as a holiday home and has undergone an extensive renovation.

The house is in two floors and has been renovated with respect for the history of the old farm. The classic style is retained with the addition of a modern twist. You find the characteristic Dinesen HeartOak floors in every room, each elegantly separated by industrial glass sections.
The owners have furthermore detached an outbuilding with a high-beamed ceiling, where they chose to cover all surfaces with HeartOak as well.
The exceptionally wide HeartOak planks come from the heart of the tree, and out of respect for the old oak trees, natural cracks have been preserved. As a particularly beautiful detail, the cracks are locked by butterfly joints of oak.
