Charlottetårnet (Charlottehaven Tower), designed by Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects, stands a symbol of the transition between the old Copenhagen district of Østerbro and the new waterfront district of Nordhavn. With its slender architectural form and impressive 56 metres in height, the apartment hotel towers over the rooftops, providing its guests with a spectacular 360-degree view of harbour and city.

Charlottehaven Tower in Copenhagen’s Østerbro district stands 56 metres tall with a basic floor plan of just 9 x 14 metres. The result is a slender high-rise with an unusually small footprint. The facade has zinc cladding in a nod to the industrial Nordhavn district, which extends from the foot of the hotel down to the quay. Vertically on the exterior wall of the hotel, a custom-designed glass lift carries the hotel guests up into the clouds.
Charlottetårnet is designed as an apartment hotel with 37 units, all with a welcoming interior where wood, glass and light-coloured terrazzo complement each other and form a harmonious setting. Custom-designed window sections provide each apartment with cityscape views of Copenhagen rooftops and parks and the calm view over the Øresund strait. The bathroom features large, uninterrupted terrazzo surfaces, while solid Dinesen oak floors underscore the coherent expression in an interplay with the other interior elements in wood.
A geothermal energy facility heats and cools the building and makes Charlottetårnet highly energy-efficient and climate-friendly.
