The quality of Dinesen Layers is three-fold: the quality raw wood, the handcraftsmanship and the Dinesen know-how.
Since 1898, Dinesen has been driven by the passion to recreate the natural calm of the forest in the meeting between people and nature. The Dinesen Layers collection is the result of craftsmanship and high-quality wood – bringing nature closer to you. The high-quality raw wood is sourced from European forests - primarily the Black Forest in Germany - where forestry has been based on sustainable principles for centuries.
Every single plank is checked repeatedly throughout the Dinesen production process in the effort to deliver uncompromising quality. The planks pass through at least ten pairs of hands on their long journey through the production facilities.

• The reverse middle layer provides exceptional stability to the planks.

• Long-lasting planks with a thick wear layer of 6 millimetres/0.2 inches.

Layers are made to last for generations. The solid top layer can be sanded again and again and our offcuts from the production of solid planks are reused in the middle and bottom layers.
As an old family business, we know the importance of thinking about the future. Therefore, we only get raw wood from sustainable forestry, where the stands are looked after and nurtured with the most excellent care and respect for nature. Our raw wood comes primarily from the Black Forest in Germany and other European countries, where the forests have been cultivated according to sustainable principles for hundreds of years.
An essential element of sustainable forestry is to fell one tree at a time, thus giving the trees a chance to grow strong and live out their full potential before they are felled and ready to serve new purposes. This is sustainability in practice.
Our planks are very well suited for underfloor heating and we recommend installing it as a comfortable and durable solution.
About 80% of our projects are established with underfloor heating. We have years of experience with underfloor heating under plank floors, and it is an unproblematic solution, provided you follow our instructions.
Dinesen Layers distinguishes itself from other lamella-constructed floors as each plank consists of a three-layer construction made entirely of quality solid wood. A Dinesen Layers floor thus gives you all the natural properties of a wooden floor in an engineered solution.
A Layers plank consists of three layers: a top, a middle, and a bottom. The top layer is the finest, solid wood. The second layer is reversed to create stability, and like the third layer, it consists of solid wood or finger-jointed offcuts from our production of solid planks.
