The culmination of Dinesen and Pawson’s long-standing collaboration is the Wooden Chapel in Unterliezheim, Bayern. The chapel is composed of 61 logs of Douglas fir, hand-picked by Dinesen from 6 local forests across Baden-Württenberg and Rheinland-Pfalz. It is a remarkable exercise in creating an immersive spiritual atmosphere - a sense of awe - using light, mass and landscape as guiding principles. It is as simple as it is moving.
